Celebrating neurodiversity in our Art classroom! This month, our students explored the fascinating concept of neurodiversity – the understanding that neurological differences like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia are natural variations in the human brain, not deficits. To further understand and express this beautiful spectrum of minds, we delved into Neurographics, an art therapy technique blending creativity and mindfulness. This process encourages connecting with our inner selves through free-flowing lines and intuitive layering of colors and shapes – a wonderful way to quiet the mind, reduce stress, and explore thoughts and feelings visually and without judgment. To see their amazing artwork, please visit Mrs. Tassler's website: https://sites.google.com/view/mrstassler/neurographics

Our 1st and 3rd grade artists blew us away this week with their incredible Neurodiversity art projects! In celebration of Autism Awareness, students dove into learning about neurodiversity and the beauty of our unique minds. By embracing both our similarities and differences, they created truly awesome artworks that represent themselves. Check out some of the amazing creations!
