Music Maude came to Kindergarten music class today. She helped us explore tempos and keeping the beat as we played with our new parachute. It was a GREAT day! ( Poor Maude might disagree as we tried bouncing her on the parachute!)

Varsity Football: Dismissed at 10:50 AM, leave time 11:30 AM
Middle School Football, Cheerleaders, and Stats: Depart at 1:00 PM
Games: Varsity kicks off at 3:00 PM, followed immediately by the Middle School game

Thank you to the ladies from the Build Dakota Scholarship Program for visiting with Sully Buttes High School students today! Students learned about the opportunities available for post-secondary education at our state Technical Schools as well as the scholarship program and career exploration.

Art Club has been buzzing with creativity! Our talented middle and high school students have been hard at work the last couple of weeks, learning and experimenting with all kinds of materials at their own pace. Art Club is a place for students to explore their preferences and create cool projects! Great Job Wyatt! 2nd place at the Faulkton Invite, Middle School Division!

We are celebrating South African Heritage! K-5 art students are diving into the colorful world of contemporary artist Nelson Makamo! Known for his expressive portraits of children, Makamo's work symbolizes Africa's hope and future. Students are emulating his mixed-media style using vibrant oil pastels and bold tempera paint. Congratulations to Tomi, Cheyenne, Paige, and Hallie on being selected by staff based on their essays to go to Washington, DC in November to participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. These students will be chaperoned by Mr. Dekker to the nation's capital and the wreath laying ceremony. We are looking for fundraising opportunities or donations to help offset travel costs for our students to participate in this great event. The Marching Chargers traveled to Aberdeen for the Gypsy Days parade this weekend and received a Gold Award! Congratulations!! 🥇🎵🎺

Second Graders learning about different kinds of soil in Ag in the Classroom! Today we painted with soil!

The last few weeks, the Reading Enrichment classes enjoyed a day of "Book Tasting." They got to sample some tasty morsels and make a list of books they want to read.

Addition to the JV Football Schedule:
Sully Buttes JV will host Faulkton JV on Monday, September 29th, at 5:00 PM.

Following the football game, athletes will transition directly to the Homecoming Coronation Ceremony at 7:00 PM.

In order to preserve game field conditions for the varsity game tonight versus Gettysburg, the junior high game scheduled for 4:45 has been cancelled.
