District Oral Interp Contest. Tuesday, November 4 in Mobridge.

The 3rd/4th/5th ELA Room has been a little quiet on here this year, but it's just because we've been wildly busy learning and having all the fun!🥳
3️⃣The 3rd graders have been working on becoming writers and what an awesome group they are. Some of the best pieces hang in our hallway each week.
4️⃣The 4th graders have continued to develop their writing, and just submitted their class book for publishing. What fun this one was! Stay tuned for updates on that when our books arrive just before Christmas!
5️⃣The 5th graders. What can I say about them. Hard working, fun, top-notch class here. These guys are loving writing and many even ASK for the next topic to begin before I'M ready! Oofta!
All 3 groups are wonderful and the First Quarter was a blast! Enjoy some pictures of our Pumpkin Book Project that we've kicked off Quarter 2 with. Students had to choose a favorite book character, design a pumpkin to look like him/her, and write a short piece on why this one is their favorite. Feel free to pop into our elementary wing and take a walk through!

Our K-1 explorers had a total blast wrapping their minds around the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt and the process of mummification!
For a super fun and creative art project, the students became ancient artists, using a surprisingly natural pigment: coffee! They were so impressed by how a simple ingredient could create such an authentic, aged look for their mummies. What a great lesson on natural pigments!
Once their cute mummies were complete, they kept the Halloween spirit rolling with a fun game of "Monster Dice."
Take a closer look at their impressive, naturally painted projects on Mrs. Tassler’s website: https://sites.google.com/view/mrstassler/25-halloween

Our amazing 3rd graders had a blast in STEAM class reading the hilarious book, "Creepy Carrots!" But the fun didn't stop there—they had a tricky engineering challenge to solve!
The mission? To create a fence to trap those creepy carrots using only 8 wooden pins and 8 popsicle sticks. This required planning, and a whole lot of creativity!
Check out how our students used their ingenuity to solve the puzzle and keep the garden safe. Talk about smart builders!

Animal Science finished their Animal Skeleton Silhouettes to wrap up our Skeletal System unit. Check out these cool skeletons!!

The 5th grade art class is celebrating by diving into the vibrant world of Brazilian artist, Romero Britto! His fun, optimistic Pop Art style is full of bright colors, bold outlines, and geometric patterns.
Check out the incredible, colorful masterpieces our young artists created after learning about his work! They truly captured the joy and energy of Britto's "Happy Art Movement." : https://sites.google.com/view/mrstassler/k-5-romero-britto
